8-week writing courses

The 8-week courses are informative, fun, and constructive. You can feel safe sharing your stories in this friendly group while giving valuable feedback in return
and forming tight bonds with your fellow writers.
You can scroll down to FAQ for dates & details.
Please don't feed the writers.

Beginners Course

This course is perfect for starting writers.
In 8 weekly lessons of 2 hours each, we tackle subjects such as character building, dialogue, and how to strengthen your words. In a small group of like-minded people, you benefit from their feedback; where does your story become unclear or too long? You develop your writing muscles and grow into a true storyteller while meeting friendly creatives.
The winter course is full, but I have organised an extra spring edition!
You can contact me here to sign up. (See more details below in the FAQ.)

Intermediate

Have you already done a writing course in the past and want to boost your skills? Have you done my beginners course and want to continue? Then this is the perfect place for you. This course leads to two short stories and teaches you more about structure, plotting, and creative content. The feedback and support from the others are extremely beneficial, and often, students form little writing groups afterwards. Are you interested in joining the next one? You can contact me here to sign up (see more details below at FAQ).

Advanced

If you did my first two courses or you have a good amount of writing skills, this is your next step. The focus is on writing and less on theory. I believe learning to write is not linear and everyone has strong and weak points they can continue to develop. All you need is a framework of classes and a creative crew to stimulate you. Their feedback, input, and flaws serve as a huge catapult for your own creative development. For this group, I make sure everyone is on the same page before signing up. You can contact me here to find out more.

The classes helped me to wake up my creativity and rediscover my ability to create. Talia sets a very safe environment to share all kinds of ideas in a fun way.

What does it cost?

A full course of 8 classes costs €400-
You can pay in 2 instalments if you prefer.
You have only secured a spot after paying the first instalment.
If you want to join, you can let me know here, and I will send you payment details.

Can I cancel my registration?

Yes, you can cancel up to 20 days before the start of the course.

Where are the courses held?

The 8-week courses are held at Bouncespace on the Overtoom 141 in Amsterdam. The advanced classes run online.

How big are the groups?

As I like to keep my classes small and personal, I take max. six students per course.

What if I miss a class?

I have you covered. You will receive a summary
and the homework, so you can catch up. Additionally, you can always call me for details. Many of my students miss at least one class per course.

What do I need to bring?

A notebook and pen/pencil is all you need! I send additional information once you have signed up, in case you need more.

Are the courses in English?

Yes, but as many people aren’t Native English, we don’t put all our focus on grammar. Writing strong content is more important for now. I do advise using Grammarly for better spelling.
Helaas geef ik zelf geen les in het Nederlands omdat ik hier simpelweg niet genoeg aanmeldingen voor krijg. Wel kun je hier kijken voor goed opgeleide scrijfdocenten en hun aanbod in het hele land.

Can I get an invoice?

Sure! Just send me all the details, such as (company)name, address and anything else you want on there, and I will send it your way.

If you are not sure which Class suits you best,
simply contact me and we will figure it out together.
